Logilda.dll Logitech mice error on Windows 10

Some users have stated that the error message started to pop up after upgrading their Windows platforms.

The logilda.dll error largely pertains to the Logitech Download Assistant, and these are some potential fixes for it.


How can I fix the Windows 10 logilda.dll error?

  1. Disable LogiLDA from the Windows Startup with Task Manager
  2. Erase the Logitech Download Assistant Key from the Registry
  3. Erase the Logitech Registry Key with a batch file
  4. Uninstall the Logitech SetPoint software
  5. Reinstall the Logitech Driver

1. Disable LogiLDA from the Windows Startup with Task Manager

  1. To fix the logilda error, you’ll usually need to at least disable LogiLDA (Logitech Download Assistant) from Windows startup. You can do that by pressing the Windows key + R hotkey.
  2. Enter taskmgr in Run’s text box, and press the OK button.
  3. Click the Start-up tab on the Task Manager window.
  4. Now select LogiLDA on the list of startup items, and press the Disable button.
  5. Disable other Logitech startup items if there are any.

DLLs and registries are valuable data libraries that Windows uses in order to run properly.

2. Erase the Logitech Download Assistant Key from the Registry

  1. To ensure that the Logitech Download Assistant is fully removed from the Windows startup, erase the Logitech registry key. To do that, first open Run with the Windows key + R keyboard shortcut.
  2. Enter regedit in Run’s text box, and press the OK button.
  3. Then enter the following command in the Registry Editor’s path text box: ComputerHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRun
  4. Right-click the Logitech Download Assistant key, and select Delete.

3. Erase the Logitech Registry Key with a batch file

  1. Alternatively, you can erase the Logitech Download Assistant registry key with a batch file. To do that, open Notepad by entering Notepad in Run’s text box.
  2. Copy the batch file below with the Ctrl + C hotkey:

    • cd %windir% & cd system32

    • echo #
    • echo ######################## Change the dirctory for x64 ########################

    • echo this command is x86 application’s registry for x64 OS
    • cd %windir% & cd syswow64
    • reg delete “HKCUSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRun” /v “Logitech Download Assistant” /f
    • reg delete “HKLMSOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRun” /v “Logitech Download Assistant” /f
    • echo End
  3. Paste that code into Notepad by pressing the Ctrl + V hotkey.
  4. Click File, and select Save As to open the window below.
  5. Select All Files from the Save as type drop-down menu.
  6. Enter Logitech.bat as the batch file title.
  7. Select to save the batch file to the desktop, and press the Save button.
  8. Then right-click the Logitech.bat file on the desktop and select Run as administrator.

4. Uninstall the Logitech SetPoint software

  1. Enter appwiz.cpl in Run, and click OK to open the window directly below.
  2. Enter the keyword Logitech SetPoint in the search box.
  3. Select the listed SetPoint software, and press the Uninstall button.
  4. Press the Yes button to further confirm.
  5. Restart the Windows OS.
  6. You can then press the Download Now button on this page to get the latest SetPoint software. If you have a 32-bit Windows platform, select Full Installer 32-bit from the drop-down menu before clicking Download Now.
  7. Open SetPoint’s installer to add the software to Windows.

Removing Logitech Download Assistant from Windows startup will usually fix the logilda.dll error.

However, if not, then reinstalling the Logitech SetPoint software with the latest version might also fix the logilda.dll error.

5. Reinstall the Logitech driver

  1. Another alternative resolution for the logilda error is to reinstall the default Logitech mouse driver. To reinstall that driver, enter devmgmt.msc in Run’s text box.
  2. Double-click Mice and other pointing devices to expand the listed devices.
  3. Then right-click the Logitech HID mouse and select Uninstall device.
  4. Windows will then reinstall the default driver for the mouse when you restart your laptop or desktop.
