- Ultimate Ears has launched UE Fits wireless earbuds that mold to fit your ears in less than a minute.
- They still promise a rich sound with eight hours of listening on a charge.
- The buds arrive later this fall for $249.
Even newer wireless earbuds like the AirPods Pro or Galaxy Buds Live still tend to have an imperfect fit, and the truly snug ones are usually custom-molded monitors intended for musicians. Ultimate Ears, however, thinks it can deliver that perfect fit for almost anyone — it’s launching the UE Fits, a set of true wireless earbuds that quickly fit to your ears without any outside help.
The earbuds deliver the virtually instant fit by using built-in LEDs to harden gel-filled tips as they fit the contours of each ear. Tap a button in the UE Fits app and you should get an ideal mold in less than a minute. Ultimate Ears claims that this will not only ensure ideal comfort, even for extended listening, but create “superior” passive noise cancelling by blocking ambient sound.

The company tells Android Authority you can’t refit the tips after this initial process, although there’s both a 30-day trial and a guarantee if that initial fit is less than ideal. You can order extra tips if things ever change. Suffice it to say that you shouldn’t count on selling the UE Fits to a new owner, at least not without getting a fresh pair of tips.
Ultimate Ears is touting strong performance once you do get that fit. The 10mm drivers are tailored toward a “full, warm and detailed” sound with tight bass. You also get a relatively long eight hours of listening per charge, with the battery case extending that to 20 hours. There won’t be extensive control, but you can customize the buttons to activate your phone’s voice assistant or skip tracks.
The UE Fits are available to pre-order now for $249 ahead of their fall release. They’ll only be available in the US, though, so international listeners are currently out of luck.
