1.2 Let Windows automatically update your driver.

Follow these steps to do this:

• Right click the Start button
• Click on Control Panel
• Go to Hardware and Sounds
• Click on Sound

• Go to the Playback tab
• Select your audio device/headset and click on properties

• Click Change Settings (this may require administrator permission)
• Go to Driver tab

2. Check the volume controls

Volume may not just below or turned off on your audio settings, but also your control box. If you are using the control box, ensure you turn up the volume on it as well. However, you need to know that this volume setting is meant for the headphones alone.

Also, check whether the mute switch on your control box is not on mute.

3. Disable the output sound device

1. Click Start
2. Type Sound in the search box
3. Click on Sound icon
4. Locate Default Playback Device
5. Disable it
6. Re-enable it

Some users say this is a temporary fix because each time your computer wakes, you have to repeat this process. If this doesn’t solve it, try the next solution.

4. Check Intel Management Systems

1. Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to open Task manager
2. Set it to monitor top CPU cycles or all processes
3. Playback your audio and check which process spikes when there’s audio buzzing, as this could be the likely cause of the problem.

Sometimes the problem isn’t your sound/audio drivers, but the audio buzzing could be caused by other systems being interrupted by software. This happens when the systems don’t complete updates and/or tasks, such that the audio driver is rendered functionless.

What the audio driver then does, as a result, is to try and match the CPU cycles, hence the audio buzzing problem. You can also try disabling all Internet Management and Security services as they may cause the audio buzzing problem.

5. Update the wireless driver

This involves updating wireless drivers, such as Realtek (which is mostly used on Windows), then look online for manufacturer updates for the wireless driver for Windows 10. In case this doesn’t fix audio buzzing, try the next solution.

6. Check your Wi-Fi adapter

Your Wi-Fi adapter could actually be one of the suspect causes of audio buzzing. Check that it is not touching the sound cable on your computer as the small dual aerials, if angled towards the sound cable, can create the buzz.

Also use a wired Ethernet cable to your computer and disable Wi-Fi, as a way of eliminating the audio buzzing problem. If you turn off your Wi-Fi and play the same music but it doesn’t buzz, the issue is with your Wi-Fi.

7. Check Sound settings

Sometimes the easiest way to resolve audio buzzing is by going to your sound properties, check on the levels of your subwoofer. Adjust while you listen to check whether the buzzing goes away.

Check your speaker properties then click Levels, and ensure your speakers’ output is on or below the middle mark (50). Anything above that may cause audio buzzing.

8. Use System Restore

1. Go to Settings, then click on Update & Security and click on Recovery under the left pane.
2. Click on Get Started under Reset this PC and choose to Keep your files.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the reset.

This can come as one of the last resort measures. It involves restoring your computer back to a state when it worked properly without the audio buzzing issue. Keep using this at least for the moment before reverting back to Windows 10 as an update may have caused this issue.
